- Shun the use of ammonia-based glass cleaners. One, they may be incompatible with tinted windows (just think of how much you spent for that). Two, they may be harmful to vynil, leather, and rubber surfaces.

- Buy cleaners that have the “safe on window-tint film” label. It pays to be a vigilant consumer.
- Don’t just pick any rag or cloth lying around in the house or garage. Leave that to your mudded shoes.
- Invest in a microfiber towel with a tight weave that’s especially manufactured for glass cleaning. Stay away from the very cheap ones; you’d have problems with fiber residue.
