Looking through the Car Windows: Windshield

Windshield

Windshields are usually made of laminated glass, though some of the latest models, the hatchbacks particularly, use the same material for their rear windows. The laminated glass is described as having a structure that’s like a sandwich; meaning, two glass layers bonded by an interlayer of
PVB or polyvinyl butyral under extreme heat and pressure. Since the PVB boasts of strength and ductility, this setup prevents cracked glass from further shattering into pieces.
